A Note to Readers
We are pleased to introduce Katherine Shear, MD, as the newest member of the Journal Watch Psychiatry board of editors. Dr. Shear joins us from Columbia University, where she is the Marion E. Kenworthy Professor of Psychiatry at the School of Social Work and the College of Physicians and Surgeons. Her clinical and research focus is on treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Shear’s extensive NIMH-funded research, which includes treatment-effectiveness studies using pharmacotherapy and various psychotherapy methods, has been conducted in primary care settings, urban and rural community mental health clinics, and academic medical centers. Her clinical and teaching interests include anxiety disorders and bereavement-related problems.
With Dr. Shear's appointment, we bid farewell to Dr. Michael Otto, who leaves us to pursue other professional endeavors. We will miss Dr. Otto and his excellent contributions to our publication.
